You too

Saturday evening, the silver jubilee couple were going out together to get few new dresses for their next anniversary. Then came a ring saying they had got a new mobile. Ah! I was barely able to hear of where they had their ice cream or what mobile they got! Finally after a lift early this morning. He pulls out the black bag (like than of an old grandmother, suruku paii) from his shirt pocket. With all the inquisitiveness I pull out the mobile from the bag, look, I smile, I said, "You too Dad.."

She was excited to see all the items in the polythene cover I had got. Exploring and questioning with her innocence. Then she pulled that book fro the mess and said, "This came to him". Quickly tear open the cover less tidy as 'am. Holding the book between both her palms, then closing two thumbs together to select a random page. Pulled it close to her face to have a long sniff. She said, "This smell is good". I look, I smile, I said, "You to mee".

My Valentine

It's been the first time ever, I decided to spend the V-Day! (Valentine Day). This time we did not ask my class girls to give a bunch of flowers to Santy or go to boomerang for an ice-cream and ask the girls to pay the bill. It was different and special for the first time.

Spent, all most half a day with my valentines. We at my office, had invited students from Spastic Society to spend an afternoon with us. "It was magical", I would say. They are children who are physically and mentally challenged.

I smiled with them, made them laugh. I drew with them, gave them an outline to color. They colored it in a minute and asked for more sketches. (Huff, I ran out of ideas to draw) :) Fed them. I walked with them and more than anything, I clicked their day at Novell. Thank to all the people who were behind in making this happen.

My Fav Pic :) Me and Rahul on a walk.

After a heavy meal, they relax out watching Charlie Chaplin. :)

They loved it.

Break the pyramid, played by the children.

They drew nice sketches with the crayons and sketches.

This is Rahul. He's has a beautiful smile and laughs for the sound "Tyneee".

Movie Review: Naan Kadavul

Few heads up before I start.
Language: Tamil
Cast: Arya, Pooja.
Story & Direction: Bala
Music: Mastero

Well, it was an out of the box effort. Bala after Pithamagan ventured into this project two years ago. Each frame shows the effort of the team. To brief, Its a story about an Aghori. Wikipedia says, "Aghori are sect of Hindu who are devotees of Lord Shiva and believed to have the power to liberate a soul from next birth.", Also they are condemned from for their cannibalistic ritual of eating human meat. Yes "Human". If you already got goose bums about watching the movie, this is one half. There is more on the movie to give you goose bums and hick ups.

Certified A: But NO Nudity and NO Violence.

There is yet another unexplored way of human life depicted in the movie. (I will not talk about it..) Because that's the strength of the movie and not a hint was dropped before the movie was released. Pooja: who has proved (or proven by Bala) as a great character actor. She has very well glued in the character and taken the audience in the climax. Credits to her. Bala does it again after Laila in Pithamagan.

You will see bala's presence in each frame. The way he has extracted work from Arya, Pooja and bunch of strangers. Also risking to take such a subject is tremendous. The story line is so well gelled into the movie, the way the life of an Aghori is when he is exposed to normal human life. Also a heavy dose of comedy is an boon to such a serious movie. That is getting to their level and showing reality. This is why many people did not like the movie.

Wonder what is with the Censor board? When its legal to release Hollywood movies like Saw and Hannibal raising Indian theaters in India. What is the problem with movies like this? Why did the censor board work over time to chop scenes out the movie to form their new story line to the public. I would have been happy to put a disclaimer on the movie and then release it then to cut scene like this.

This is not a commercial movie, nor a spiritual one. Its a documentary, an Art film.

Not for Children or Weak hearted or for some one who would puke on seeing a person with external disorder.

After all the million sms and record marathon full night calls aiding to the telecoms industry boom.. After climbing the small hills in nature walk and those Boomerang ice cream.. Canteen tea and Caramel bakery veggies.. Beach road walks and CC's pair programming.. Finally the couple decided to join hands and make their first step.. Gopal is getting engaged to Aparna today Feb 8th 2009 @ Chennai. Hearty wishes to the couple, and all the very best to their life ahead..

Double Bonanza: Well, one more 02mw wish. Wishing Preethi (mw19) and Mani on her Baby shower function today. Wishes to the couple!

Triple Bonanza: Lekha (mw13) is getting married today. Hearty wishes to her too.
Quadruple Bonanza: Venkat is getting engaged today. Hearty wishes to this geek too. Wishing him a great life ahead.

It was a well rounded Softies weekend. Well, for me.. I'm just compensating for all the lost sleep in the last few weeks.. If you ask me what I'm up to, I wont think about an option. I'm just sleeping. Thanks to the love of Dk's mom with those extra added Ghee. Its just living it here. Even the India-Srilanka match seems boring. No Invites, No Phone calls, no sms not even those Bangalore weather reminders hit to disturb me. :)

Secondly I won the inaugural "Picture perfect" column for the last quarter of 2008 at my office. Thanks to Jaimon for judging me. :)

Cheers all... Happy Clicking...

You will not sing about

that night
they decided to walk,
without holding their hands,
on a clear sky night.
she felt the cold, but continued..
no warrior from the dark,
came to take him away,
thou she was ready to fight.
they walked lingering in thoughts
passing hours into the cold night
she din want silence to take over,
but both look and smile.

he sees a shooting star,
makes a wish, it comes true.
she sees a shooting star,
stares, smiles and misses to wish.
that's her.
they din speak on politics or obama
neither they spoke on love or the green apple
amma, calls her, she din pick
not for him, but for them.
placed their hand together,
to see how his hand fits in her palm.
when her thoughts took a detour,
he patted her back, she was fine.

they continued walking into the dark,
so even their shadows don overlap,
they were comfortable that way.
as night gets chiller and words gets seldom,
with different memories,
and unanswered questions,
they decided to walk away.
She misses her one last cry,
to send him away.

Rafa Rafa and Rafa

I'm living in the Golden Era of Sports
Congrats Rafa
He did it again, he did it again with a Force. Rafael Nadal won the Australian Open 2009, first grand slam in the calender. 7-5 3-6 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 6-2 Did you witness the match? Did you see those forehand and backhand shots from both the champion tennis players. They just re-wrote the history books for a tennis game. It would be fair to say that Rafa would have covered a distance of a full marathon during the match. It was a fight between skill, determination, temperament, physical and mental strength. The better stood out at the end. He ruled "The Clay", he went and conquered the grass. Now he is here are his first hard court grand slam and proving every critique wrong and thus conquering. With a total match time of about 10 hours in 3 days is like super human.  Congrats Nadal..

Whats next for Federer?
"God - This is killing me?" - It was not Federer who was beaten, It was Fed's Morale that was beaten. All the tears at the end of the game spoke for it. He was once written as a champion who is supposed to equal pete's record with this win. He din lose because he din have the skill or he din have the stamina to stand at the center court for 5+ hours. Its because he din think he can win. 3rd set was the turning point of the match. Twice Nadal was able to save him to 0-40 and take the game. I can say loud and clear that Fed tenure is over. If he got to take an other championship, he need to give double best. He needs to cross people like Nadal and Verdasco in his path.

For Federer fans
My friend said, "Federer Failed, Not Destroyed". I say this is what they call step1. You guys take a break and great ready to fanatically follow your legend and keep your biased review and comments about Nadal coming. We love feedback.

WTF was that?
Arun has captured it here (Rafa means Positive Energy). Adding to it, I was totally annoyed by the commentary given by Espnstar commentator Vijay Amritraj. At least he annoyed less towards the end of the game. For a winning Federer point, he has these flamboyant commentary to praise Fed. But in case of Nadal he says, "That was close to the line and Fed misses it."

Ladies, you are boring
I have stopped watching Ladies tennis for good. They have lost the charm of Steffi, Monica, and Hingis. It has become a muscle game. Who can hit the fastest! For instance both the finalist are like power houses. Ladies have learnt that speed and strength can beat skill. That is true. I wish the beauty will revive again soon.

I'm living in a Golden Era
I learned first rules of tennis in my TV video game that my Dad got me. Whats a fault, double fault, tie breaker et al. Also I decided this was not the game for me in real life after playing few shots in my college days. I grew up in the era of Sampras and Agassi. Its was Federer who ruled after that with his class. He had his own style to be with. Less expressive and calm until he wins the game. Who can beat someone with such exquisite touch. Nadal proved it wrong, speed with skill can do it. What would be next? Who will conquer Nadal? Skill, strength or something different.
