Whats the plan guys?

Well, a ping that bring smiles for people in my home, "Whats the plan guys?". We had been planning and executing them cleanly. I can say we had the best time in Bangalore in the last few weeks. Things have changed then, we got new plans. 


Santy will be going to the guitar classes promptly after a month, since he is travelling until then. Bon voyage! Also decided to read two thirukural per day. I hope he does not stock the book in his usual place.


Gethu has decided to pull the hand break. Be on diet and hit the gym. He has promised me a new look in my wedding. Keeping my fingers crossed.


Dams, is busy searching places for santy to visit in US. :) Sure still keeps him busy with the multiple legiyam and podi's.

Kishore still claims being part of the investigation team and keeps him all busy with the sms and calls. Also will soon get his six pack done.

JK would be going to Asha nikethen and taking the lead in cooking. Will continue to be a Vijay follower and wait for his next release too. Also being a good neighbour he would be getting new guy or gal for the home due to retention rate in our home.

Jr Santy has moved to Chennai for good and promised that there would be change since he is with his family. But yeah we also got the updates of his first day in office. :D

I would still keep my plans going. :)

Pasangala, Enjoy Das anna's food, DJ's music, those debates, street cricket, Anjappar and don forget about the hike we planned for the high performing maid. :D

P.S. Called them now, they are watching ayirathil oruvan again.

Happy Birthday Sister-in-cork

We met once in a coffee shop with our common friends (we ended up sitting there for thirty minutes and didn't order any). Then we planned to meet for a night trek, but our common friends had different plans of kidnapping her and ended up in the Airport. Then may be a puli kolambu lunch at my home, but the host betrayed. So her curse still holds good! :-( we bonded more in our blogs and are good friends now. She is also one of my favorite bloggers. 

Many more Happy returns of the day Revs! Wishing that many more wishes of yours come true.

One more wish, Happy Birthday Rajini. God bless you with more success and give us few more hits like Thillu Mullu, Thalaphathi and Baasha. :-)

Happy Birthday Kannan

Who said Birthday's are to be celebrated at 00:00 hrs of The day. So differently we decided to celebrate it at 23:59 hrs. Thats the easiest excuse we can take of the laziness. But its fun to wake the half asleep guy and stuff some cream on his face. }:-) Sigh! What is life if you cant eat an German Chocolate cake! :-( I officially hate GM diet.

Happy Birthday Dams. We wish you many more growths in your life ;) and success be with you. Share the cake with Vijay too. :)

Also one more new arrival to the our home (dhanda selavu). The Raja of our home got a new Guitar and a posh bag for it. Dams duly said, "Hey the bag is big enough that you can stuff extra cloths when you are going home." Perspective varies you see! :)

Well the highlight of the day was this Happy Birthday song The Raja of our home played in his new Guitar. Listen and Enjoy!

DOCOMO moment

Today Oct The 14th, my good friend is writing his GRE. We are all excited at home already. He will be our Muhmud of Koramangala and still with high spirits. After all the long hours he spent, I should be giving him many "Burnt the Midnight oil" cards. After those, "Sir, as I'm suffering from fever, I would request you to kindly give me one day leave!". Its show time today.

Inspired from Tata DOCOMO's, "Life can change in a second". We identified DOCOMO moment for him. After the online test, there will be an option to view the marks. Clicking that and knowing his marks would be the DOCOMO moment for him. It will decide if its gonna be a hazy evening. ;-)

A simple wedding

Yesterday I traveled to Guruvayur temple, Kerala for one of my friend's wedding. My mom reminded me that, I'm going to the temple exactly after 24 years. So ideally I would take this my first visit I can remember. :) It was a Malayali wedding that I attended and I really loved the way the whole ceremony went.

Step 0: Get the bride and groom dressed up for the occasion.
Step 1: Wait in the temple's wedding queue. Yes, there are multiple podiums outside the temple where lot of weddings happen on a given day.
Step 2: Get on the podium, the chief priest will do a small ceremony and the groom ties the mangalyam (sacred rope) to the bride and pray to lord Guruvayurappan for their well being. That's it, click few snaps and you are done. Approx time 5-8 minutes for each couple.
Step 3: Walk to the nearest wedding reception hall that's already booked.
Step 4: Exchange rings, Flowers and round the sacred grains and lamps that were kept on the stage. Finally sign the registration papers. :) Its done again. Approx time 30-60 minutes.

Then its left of the members of the family and friends to give fruit and milk to the couple. Finally each of them coming to the podium for a photo session. The whole thing called wedding is done. How simple, neat and crisp.

Instead of complex long chanting mantras, burning fire, smoke, asking the bride to change the Saree every one hour, occupying a huge wedding hall for two days, the grooms horse ride the previous day and the numerous other small ceremonies that happen, its sometimes good to keep things simple. Spending so much on the materials for the wedding. Literally the bride and groom become so tired by the end of the day. Its agreed that these are traditions in many families and they did not want this to fade out and every parent will wish their children to get married auspiciously.

Still this is something many families can think about following, except the loads of gold that the bride wears. ;)

Are we really busy???

The latest buzz word which i hear often these days is "busy". its either "i'm busy" or "i thought you're busy".

First, when will you say that you're busy? or how can you identify whether we're busy or not? My answer for that is plain and simple, when you haven't spoken with your friend for 'long time' (and the time-period for that 'long time' varies based on person to person). The reason for me to use 'friend', than any other relationship, is just because, you've the total freedom with friends, its neither a 'duty', which is the case with parents and relatives, nor 'mandatory', which is the case with your other-half or lover. you have the entire control over, when to talk to your friends, and also whom to talk, in that big list of friends. And all these absolutely out of your own personal INTEREST......

TN 01

Few weeks back I tried the facebook app quiz "Are you fit to live in Chennai?" I fared moderately in it (Result: You will do better in coming days!). But only now I realise that reality is more traumatic.

We boarded the train to Chennai on a cool Tuesday evening. The train reached our destination at the unearthly hours of 4:10 AM. A sudden warmth in the air when it's supposed to be the coldest time of the day. Still keeping that aside we had a small nap after reaching home. A friend of mine texted me, "Welcome to singaara chennai" I didn't know it had to be read as "Welcome to sudaana chennai"

After breakfast, I started alone to T-Nagar to meet a friend for a quick lunch. Boarded the local bus and I was warned it was going to be a one hour ride into the city. I got the window seat happily and started reading name boards to know which area I'm currently in. It was 12 noon and the heat wave started blowing .Sigh! After getting down in a wrong stop, I ran to a near by shop to get a cold water bottle and quench the thirst. (tip: Never travel across Chennai without a water bottle)


The Wedding. It was a beautiful wedding I should say! They took good care of the guests. A perfect setting for a wedding in Chennai summer. The food was excellent -a full 5/5 for the food. They were co-operative enough to pack the food for some of them who wanted to start early. Full recommendation for this caterer. Then later that night we decided to take a walk to Residency towers for podi dosa and coffee at 2 AM. As usual I understood less on the complex ceremonies in the wedding podium. I was along with Arun for the photo shoot and got some nice clicks. Then had to skip lunch for unforeseen reasons ;) to land at the movie "Pasanga".

A visit to Chennai is not fulfilled without a trip to its beaches and tasting the junk food there. So yeah next stop was Marina beach (Still they have not decided to sell it, Madhu). Nice breeze and few clicks here and there! Back to 21 degree Celsius at my friend's home.

It started getting hotter and hotter. We entered the third day of our vacation. The heat had not even reduced a bit. Next destination was Poonamallee for my senior's wedding. Christ it was so hot that I could not find a time when I stopped sweating. A friend of mine who was a resident from Ooty (Thuud!) woke up at 3 AM and decided to take a walk, unable to sleep. I got up at 5 AM and joined him. :)


Interestingly I took the last photo in the wedding hall. It was a idol placed in flowing water. A fat, dark gentleman came to me and started speaking in fast Tamil. I did not follow for few minutes until he asked if I have permission to take photos here. He introduced himself as special police security officer in charge for the wedding. He asked, "What if you keep a bomb and go?Show me your ID card, I'm showing mine right". So I did. I told him that I was a guest of the bridegroom, but he did not listen. Then he asked me to take some photos, telling that it should come in the press the next day. He posed with a Mickey Mouse mascot who was standing in the entrance. Only then I found he was under the influence of alcohol.

This was one interesting part of the trip. Two photographers left with nothing to do, can turn up such interesting stuff. Will write more about in the next post. Also below was an frantic effort to shoot a group of squirrel. Photographing squirrels was quite a challenge. I stripped them in a single collage.


After getting burnt, roasted for 4days and getting sun burns, I was very much unsure of how I'm carry myself again on the 5th day. Also I had plans to visit some of my friends, but then everyone are placed in corners of the city. So I had to skip them all and cut short my vacation by a day and boarded a volvo and reached Bangalore. (Reports said: It has rained heavily in Bangalore for the last 4 days :( ) Back in Bangalore a stranger asked us, "Are you guys back from chennai? Is it raining there, did you bring the umbrella back?". I looked at my friend and burst out laughing.

In simple I'm yet not ready for Chennai Summer!

Birthdays, Cakes and 79

I archive photos, I archive photos like mad. :-) That's a serious hobby leave it. Browsing the archive I noticed this series of cakes I tasted. I wish I had all the *other* cake snaps too. Trust me this is only 10% of the total cakes I would have tasted. Cake walk, Just bake are some of the outlets in Bangalore we regularly knock into.

This is one of the special cake. Its a White Forest. We got this for our college farewell. But fortunately the guy (Mr.Gethu) stacked the cake vertically. That's why you can see both the sides tapered and the cake looks oval in shape.

This was for my class PR. That guy fortunately had fever to escape from the bums that year. Unfortunately I don remember the flavor.

This was one of the three cakes of my previous Birthday! :) It was a Black Forest. I wonder what all people imagine to write on the cakes.

Ah! This one is a Chocolate Fantasy. Its all faint memories of tasting this cake. All I remember was people using it as a facial. Yeah yeah, you read the first work right. :P

This cake was the heights! Its a Pineapple Flavor. Look at the essay writing on the cake. The vendor would have been sigh on getting this done. See how many candles, I guess the Birthday boy would have been burnt before he blew them off.

There are many others! I'm not remembering many of them.

Restart Blogging

Off lately I was banging my head reading ASCII chart and gdb. But Its fun you know. Also was trying out pair programming for two days and seems to work out of the given problem. Tried venting out in a coffee break conversation all about Blogging with a friend.

I started blogging almost 2.5 years back. Made around 200 post. I don categorise on what I write, I just write all the junk I feel like. I write when I feel liking. Also got to confess that adherent follower of Blogger platform. During this whole journey, had formed small sets of blogger around me reading and exchanging comments and reviews. But today I was reminded of all the old bloggers I knew. I thought of saying them a "hi" and give them a nice whip on the butt to re-start blogging. Oh yeah! I know everyone is either busy at work or married. Still give it a thought. Here are some of them... If someone is really think to rethink. Let me know. :)

You should interpret that title as `Year` followed by `course code` and followed by `id`. This is how the roll numbers of students would be in PSG Tech. So its 2002 batch (hey I was also the same batch...) MSc software Engineering (yeah, I too graduated with the same degree), 02 thats Arun from my class and 30 that's Shruthi from my class.

Finally the Beauty & Geek decided to lead their life together. This wonderful couple is getting engaged today Dec 14th 2008. I wish them all the blessing and a prosperous beginning ahead. I'm will be present to watch the Bride groom blush and meet all my friends. (Snaps: ASAP) Rather than the usual argument of cutting the hair, this time we agreed on it. Also I have approved a hair cut to Arun this time. He did cut a lot. :)

Happy Birthday Santy

Happy Birthday Santy.. Wowwie what a beautiful day we had.. Well, if you don know about santy.. He is my beloved roomie in Bangalore for the last 2+ years. In fact did the graduation with me. Actually his parents call him Santosh. But he carries the legacy of santy's in M.Sc Software. Santy is a wonderful person to be with. I got to put this first, a heart throb among girls. :) Also carries the grace of music with him. Nice singer though! (We are even training him for the next super singer) Famous for his jumping hair style. One of best representatives that our class had. (Guess he would also agree that it was his golden period for him too) He has all the patience in the world when you pull his legs. But sill we remember when he chased near C-416 at hostel. Also a lead in our kitchen, famous for his mango sambar. Right now he looks like Subramaniyapuram hero. Yeah he does not gets time for that alone! One more is that he adores cleanliness and keeps things around him. Now that I have trying to keep up with him on this. :) Its fun with him always...

I'm still on the DBC cake hangover. It all started with a game of bowling, after a bad start in the first few throws managed to get around 130. Had a nice dinner and meet some my close buddies. As usual he did not wait for the song to get over to blow the candles. Fun started after applying pastry and gave his an egging bath. The videos have come good! Early morning "Raji" made a surprising (planned) visit home. She woke up santy splashing a glass of water. It was another round of egging by Raji and kiran. It was one of the most funniest video ever recorded, I just laughed out with the style Raji broke those eggs! Girls are expert in breaking them in the kitchen only. It was a record number of times he took bath in 24 hours. Then finally with a nice dinner at Terrace Nation. (we are addicted to that place now-a-days) Also hoping he will now listen to all his favourite numbers. [Pic from left: Me, Santy (nice shirt!) and Peeps age 22]

Well, wishing all the best for him though tout his life. He knows, "What ever happens, life has to move on". Also hoping to see you at Berkeley and searching for a roomie with that guitar!
