Love marriage, Arranged marriage
Last Sunday I watched the "Neeya Naana" episode in Vijay TV. Topic was "Acceptance of arranged marriage and acceptance of love marriage". This always seems to be a sensitive/hot topic for people to debate about. So I'm not going to do it here.
In the current generation, the probability of people who are against love marriages is more. They might include mostly people who are more than 30+ years old. They are people who are from the previous generation living in this generation. In fact the various reason's they quote for not accepting love marriages are,

They are people who are from the previous generation living in this generation. In fact the various reason's they quote for not accepting love marriages are,
- Caste the guy or girl belongs
- Religion
- Language they speak
- Pride they might lose of accepting the love marriage
- I don trust love marriage
Its their personal preferences and we don have a say in it.
But, how will the next generation be? Will there be a change? Will there be freedom for men and women to choose the people whom you want to live with? I remember a couple telling, We will be more than happy if their kid finds someone from its opposite gender. That should be all. Some say I'm even OK with them being gay, provided they are happy. But will this all eventually happen! We got to wait a few more decades for an update. :)
But definitely the chance to choose the life partner will increase in the coming generation. People will make their own choices and will be independent. But still there will be people who will sail along to the next generation with the same ideology for love marriage.
Whats your view?

That's my city
This is what my HOD Dr R. Nadarajan had to say about my college,
"As far as PSG College of Technology is concerned, there is no gap between theory & practice. But in addition to what is thought in curriculum we provide some extra training, which are actually very much required by the industry. In that way our students are salable in the market."

Photosynth Love
I came across Microsoft Surface and Photosynth here. A Microsoft product that impressed me in recent times. Photosynth is a brain child from Noah Snavely (UW), Steve Seitz (UW), and Richard Szeliski (Microsoft Research). Thank You Genius! You ppl are awesome. It's capability is to create a 3D visual of 2D images while giving a very rich and smooth interface. The awesome thing is that it does everything auto magically. Just one click. I knew it was from Microsoft Labs, never really kept track of when it graduated as a public software.
So I decided upon a project on this a month back and started preparing. Educated myself on the do's and dont's of creating a synth. Some basics like the "Rule of 3" and covering the corners, etc. I decided to start with a living room in my Bangalore home. Fixed my tripod in the center of my room and started shooting. It really looked funny for my roomies to see me coming from work and doing this crazy photo shoot in the night. Then uploaded the photos to Photosynth site (you would need live ID to Login and Silver light installed to render). Then the cloud servers sitting in Redmond started chewing my images and gave me an output that blew me off.. :)
This is what I got! Explore this messy room.
I say it again, "I love this product." Thanks to the Photosynth team.
P.S. You would need Microsoft Silverlight to view the embedded.

My Valentine
It's been the first time ever, I decided to spend the V-Day! (Valentine Day). This time we did not ask my class girls to give a bunch of flowers to Santy or go to boomerang for an ice-cream and ask the girls to pay the bill. It was different and special for the first time.
Spent, all most half a day with my valentines. We at my office, had invited students from Spastic Society to spend an afternoon with us. "It was magical", I would say. They are children who are physically and mentally challenged.
I smiled with them, made them laugh. I drew with them, gave them an outline to color. They colored it in a minute and asked for more sketches. (Huff, I ran out of ideas to draw) :) Fed them. I walked with them and more than anything, I clicked their day at Novell. Thank to all the people who were behind in making this happen.
My Fav Pic :) Me and Rahul on a walk.
After a heavy meal, they relax out watching Charlie Chaplin. :)
They loved it.
Break the pyramid, played by the children.
They drew nice sketches with the crayons and sketches.
This is Rahul. He's has a beautiful smile and laughs for the sound "Tyneee".::Post Disclaimed::

Apram..
Hmm sollu..
Nee sollu..
After all the million sms and record marathon full night calls aiding to the telecoms industry boom.. After climbing the small hills in nature walk and those Boomerang ice cream.. Canteen tea and Caramel bakery veggies.. Beach road walks and CC's pair programming.. Finally the couple decided to join hands and make their first step.. Gopal is getting engaged to Aparna today Feb 8th 2009 @ Chennai. Hearty wishes to the couple, and all the very best to their life ahead..
Double Bonanza: Well, one more 02mw wish. Wishing Preethi (mw19) and Mani on her Baby shower function today. Wishes to the couple!
Triple Bonanza: Lekha (mw13) is getting married today. Hearty wishes to her too.
Quadruple Bonanza: Venkat is getting engaged today. Hearty wishes to this geek too. Wishing him a great life ahead.
It was a well rounded Softies weekend. Well, for me.. I'm just compensating for all the lost sleep in the last few weeks.. If you ask me what I'm up to, I wont think about an option. I'm just sleeping. Thanks to the love of Dk's mom with those extra added Ghee. Its just living it here. Even the India-Srilanka match seems boring. No Invites, No Phone calls, no sms not even those Bangalore weather reminders hit to disturb me. :)

Rava laddu and mom's love
Rava Laddu or put it in a simple way its spherical mixture of rava and powered sugar with cashew jelled together with Ghee! Duhh!!! :) My mom is famous for her rava laddu, she won many hearts at my office on 2006 Diwali. Also I'm an adhered fan for them. I would make sure that she makes them at lest once in a year either for a Diwali or Christmas.
This time, I spy'd around the kitchen to get the recipe.
Ingredients: White Rava (Sooji), Sugar, Cashew, Dry grapes (optional), Badham (optional) and Ghee.
Yeepee! its ready now. Stack them in a vessel and eat one when ever you enter the kitchen.
This time, I spy'd around the kitchen to get the recipe.Ingredients: White Rava (Sooji), Sugar, Cashew, Dry grapes (optional), Badham (optional) and Ghee.
- Fry the rava in a dry hot pan for some time, so that it becomes crispy. But make sure the color does not change. To be exact it should be at the verge of changing its color.

- Now, powder the rava and powder the sugar! Yes, powder them in a mixer grinder and mix them well. Keep the mixture as much dry as possible. (my mom made sure this by not allowing me near it)
- Break the cashew into smaller pieces by hand and mix it with the mixture.
- Put the ghee in a pan and heat it until its liquid.
- Now comes the crucial and trickiest part of the recipe. You need to have immense practice to master it. Slowly pour a scoop of ghee in the mixture and roll your fingers over it make a small balls (like a Table tennis ball) Tighten your fist and make it stay in shape.
Caution: Its hot molten, ghee don't hurt yourself leave the kitcken experts handle it. That's why I just help in tighten the rounds. - Place it on a paper to let it dry! so that the extra ghee is absorbed as well it doesn't stick.
Yeepee! its ready now. Stack them in a vessel and eat one when ever you enter the kitchen.

Tring Tring... Tring Tring...
Me: Hello Mii(pronunciation of Mom)
Mom: Hello, Vijay! How are you?
Me: Nice Mii, Life's good.
...
...
Mom: How is your friende?(meaning female friend)
Me: Yeah, whats for them! Everyone seems to be fine.
Mom: Oh! is it so...
Me: You know them all right, what then.
Mom: But you should have caught some special friende by this time in Bangalore.
Me: Come on! Why would I hide it from you.
Mom:
Me: Serious mi.. belive me. :)
Later had a long conversation with one of my friend on some serious topic. I know you should have almost guessed from most of them above. But we did cover a who lot of the spectrum. Yeah its on Love, Infatuation, Commitment, Arranged Marriage, Which one will be secure, For what will your parents support, How does a guys life change after getting married, How does a girl change her life after marriage, what the right age for having a child, lush that happens after engagement, how to handle successful and unsuccessful wedding, how is the search for bride and bridegroom dependent on some crazy string matching algorithm that runs across the matrimony websites, digging the person's profiles in orkut to blogger to corporate profiles. What not.
I assume it will take a day for me to write down the whole conversation. My work also wont allow me to do so. To keep it simple, "Be yourself!"
