Ads are inseparable part of India media. From serials my mom watches to the boring formula one race that no one watches in my home except me there are ads and ad breaks. So there is lot of importance that's stressed in the ad industry in recent times, they are sometimes given more weightage than mainstream. Here was an post by paramesh that gets you to the time of DD.

I picked one best, one worst and one all time favorite ad in recent times.

Best one: Kanjoos friend Airtel. I liked it for the fact, it was short & sweet and conveyed the message.

Worst one: Lalitha Jewellery. Watch it for yourself and I got no comments. Sad point is I get to watch it in cinema screen every time I visit PVR.


Favorite one: The Force: Volkswagen. No wonder its in the most watched videos of youtube.

Love marriage, Arranged marriage

Last Sunday I watched the "Neeya Naana" episode in Vijay TV. Topic was "Acceptance of arranged marriage and acceptance of love marriage". This always seems to be a sensitive/hot topic for people to debate about. So I'm not going to do it here.

In the current generation, the probability of people who are against love marriages is more. They might include mostly people who are more than 30+ years old. They are people who are from the previous generation living in this generation. In fact the various reason's they quote for not accepting love marriages are,

• Caste the guy or girl belongs
• Religion
• Language they speak
• Pride they might lose of accepting the love marriage
• I don trust love marriage

Its their personal preferences and we don have a say in it.

But, how will the next generation be? Will there be a change? Will there be freedom for men and women to choose the people whom you want to live with? I remember a couple telling, We will be more than happy if their kid finds someone from its opposite gender. That should be all. Some say I'm even OK with them being gay, provided they are happy. But will this all eventually happen! We got to wait a few more decades for an update. :)

But definitely the chance to choose the life partner will increase in the coming generation. People will make their own choices and will be independent. But still there will be people who will sail along to the next generation with the same ideology for love marriage.

Super Singer

A search for the best voice talent in state! Super Singer - Junior. A very good creative show to showcase every hidden talent. This is second in the row, followed by Super singer comprising for all category. I had not been in constant touch with the show. Now that this Super singer junior has reached its finals! Nice to see all those kids perform with their gifted voice. The jury giving their valuable feedback etc etc.

But, I see a annoying side of the programme. The explicit showing of the emotional ups & downs they undergo. Right from the beginning till the finale this is happening. The way those small kids cry of failure, their parents prayers with tears, brothers, sisters. Such shows now more concentrate on that aspect of the programme more than the actual telecast. An unnecessary intro to few children happened even before they sang the first song in the audition. These emotions are also a strong reason of the commercial success of these programmes which is inevitable. Even if they don't eliminate at least the organizers can reduce them in future esp with children!

But Star Vijay TV's efforts in such new ventures is creditable. Lots of new programmes are being introduced and are being duped by rival channels. But Vijay TV play a major stake in reality shows and such talent hunts.
