It was a Friday evening, where I was thinking when to plug off for the weekend. But an email popped up from Arun DK. Huff, I'm done for the day! It cant get any better than this. Theme was excellent, perfect execution.
Better I write less, have a look at it.

Google Speaker Series (TALK - 1)

my messenger status stated,
"Listening to the father (Vint Cerf)
who speaks about his child's (internet)
past, present, future."

Yes as like several hundred young engineerings who skipped late evening work in their office to listen to "The Father". I was there at the initiation of the Google Speaker Series in Bangalore. The talk was by Dr. Vinton G. Cerf, Vise President & Chief Internet Evangelist for Google. I still would be arguing with Santosh, that networks and related technologies have saturated. But let me think again.

Cerf, had a good notion of humor. The talk was informative though it was not very technical. I see this as an awareness champaign to all the young brains who are looking for more challenges. The talk initially had a briefing on current trends on internet and how the world is divided by it. Next he spoke about the challenges that are faced by them.

Then came the "Next Big Thing" he spoke about the next generation of inter connection, which he calls as
InterPlaNet - InterPlanetry Network Project. This talks about the inter space communication standards. The questionnaire was also interesting where he spoke about digital divide in India to the western world. Also as anybody would have guessed how did he end up in Google and what would take us to go there!

First Race zzzz!

It was a weekend to remember for a us (myself, gopal, sri and santy). Trip to Hyd started slowly and ended very slowly. But the in between part was exciting, some of which would include. A long midnight bike ride in smooth hilly roads of Hyd, some TT, a Toyota car :), 3d movie and some spicy briyani.

Apart from this, one stands out. "Go Carting", yes we drove to the very outskirts of Hyd to reach this small Go Carting circuit called "Runway 9" comes after Bowenpally, 13kms before Medchel. Immediately we put on the gear and launched on the wheels. It was a cement track, so was bit bumpy. My first trail run was awesome. Adrenalin rushed drive. Nice curvy turns and some long stretches to accelerate. But fear was the first enemy, I crashed once, after then had a conservative drive. Sitting in the driver's seat at such an low angle of the road is exciting. Now I wonder how kimi, Naren and other would drive those million dollar machines at such high speeds. Hats of too them.

The Big Dinner

The usual lazy weekend was nearing, but at least I had pre-planned how to kill time for the weekend by playing and being online. Then by Saturday evening we were invited by my class girls for a dinner. They had plans to order pizza, but please not that dry bread any more. We (myself & Gopal) wanted something spicy. So we asked for some home made. Reached there on time, but still the cook & co we still cooking. Susila was the Project lead there, Raji was the like a technical lead doing some major job, but not last but the least Ramya who was a contractor for that kitchen. She jumps in then an there doing some fixing job. (Don under estimate her, she is also capable of leading on her own).

The menu was good, we had some potato sambar (which susila forgot to add dhall) which she did at the last, then some kelangu poriyal, papads, life time once omelet. Myself and Gopal ended up full, and were barely able to move. Thanks to those girls for that dinner!

Btw, the house was good. Esp the 1st floor, since it was newly build. I envied upon it and ended up in making it a mess. But the gang cleaned it again :)

New Year Gift :)

B'day / Christmas gifts (t-shirt, shirt) are still glittering in my eyes! Before that New Year neared the calender. Its almost 2007 in the far east. Few min to go for us. How about getting a gift now! That too from Google. Yes I did get one!

I always wanted to update by blogger and wanted to experience the new Blogger. Week earlier it informed only selected participants are allowed to migrate. But today when I logged in I was in for a surprise. I was allowed to migrate to the new blogger. My favorite stretch view is one I always liked to have. I tried tweaking the old blogger template, but the static images was hindering my trials. Now all in one plate. It has lot other cool features. Yet to explore all.
